Buick Announced Five Recipients of Buick Achievers ScholarshipGeneral Motors has great programs set up to reach out to and support the community. One of these programs is the Buick Achievers Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to 100 high school seniors or undergraduate college students who excel in the classroom and their communities. They receive up to $25,000 renewable for four years. In addition, 1,000 students will receive a one-time $2,000 award.

Recently, Buick announced the first five recipients of the award. These recipients were highlighted in the Buick Human Highlight Reel Show. They include Donald Chao of Bellevue, Washington; Nicole Kennard of Acworth, Georgia; Sharnique Smith of Memphis, Tennessee; Devin Willis of Chateauguay, New York; and Benjamin Zavala of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The remainder of the 2014 winners will be announced later. These five students represent just a small portion of the nearly 2,100 students who have received the Buick Achievers Scholarship, just since its inception in 2011. In that time, the program has given out nearly $12 million in scholarship funds.
