We know Buick for its luxurious look and feel and Nielsen for being the top consumer research firm in the business. Recently Buick was honored by Nielsen for the “Landing” commercial featuring the 2014 Buick Enclave. The ad shows a man and his family returning to a snow-covered airport from what we can assume to be a warm vacation. The man pulls out his phone, opens his MyBuick app, and starts his chilly car from inside the airplane. Since the Enclave features standard climate control and heated seats, the vehicle is nice and warm when the family arrives to the parking lot. Take a look at the full commercial below.
This commercial was named 2013 Luxury Campaign of the Year in Nielsen’s eighth annual Automotive Advertising Awards. The awards are established by results for Nielsen’s national TV ad effectiveness surveys. Nielsen says that the “Landing” commercial by Buick was able to be recalled and remembered by consumers. The surveys were completed by adults between the ages of 25-54 with a household income of $70,000 or higher.

General Motors has great programs set up to reach out to and support the community. One of these programs is the Buick Achievers Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to 100 high school seniors or undergraduate college students who excel in the classroom and their communities. They receive up to $25,000 renewable for four years. In addition, 1,000 students will receive a one-time $2,000 award.
Recently, Buick announced the first five recipients of the award. These recipients were highlighted in the Buick Human Highlight Reel Show. They include Donald Chao of Bellevue, Washington; Nicole Kennard of Acworth, Georgia; Sharnique Smith of Memphis, Tennessee; Devin Willis of Chateauguay, New York; and Benjamin Zavala of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The remainder of the 2014 winners will be announced later. These five students represent just a small portion of the nearly 2,100 students who have received the Buick Achievers Scholarship, just since its inception in 2011. In that time, the program has given out nearly $12 million in scholarship funds.

Buick experienced the best February since 2006 as it experienced a 19% year-over-year increase in sales. Buick’s February sales are one for the record books as the Regal experienced an increase of 49% in year-over-year sales due to its redesign and added features. For the 2014 model year, the Regal added an all-wheel drive option, Intellilink infotainment, and advanced safety technology. Buick believes that these updates really put the Regal back on top!
Along with the Regal redesign, General Motors is proud of the big increases it saw last month thanks in part the introduction of the Encore. February marks one full year of Encore sales and the model’s sales were up an astounding 89% year-over-year! Over 31,000 Encores were sold throughout the month and the model was recognized by Kelley Blue Book in their 5-Year Cost to Own Awards in the Luxury SUV/Crossover category.

U.S. News & World Report has released their 2014 Best Cars for Families list, and two Buick vehicles took home top honors for their usefulness to family units of all varieties.
