Buick can hang its hat on being a top ten Consumer Reports auto brand, according to the neutral testing company.
The Consumer Reports evaluation involved road testing every vehicle of each brand factoring in safety and reliability, and compiling a comprehensive list of all 28 automakers.
Buick scored the highest of all U.S. brands and ranked number seven overall thanks to their restored image and more aggressive styling. “Buick has a reputation for large, cushy cars, and they’ve really reinvented themselves pretty quickly,” says Jake Fisher, director of automotive testing at Consumer Reports. Their revamped image vaults the Buick brand past Honda, Acura, and BMW.

In a separate “top picks” category of the Consumer Reports, Buick Regal topped the sports sedan segment by de-throning the BMW 328i, which had reigned supreme the last two years.

When it comes to consumer advocacy, Consumer Reports is one of the most trusted organizations. In its recent round of testing, it found the 2014 Buick Regal’s luxury was on par with the likes of the BMW 328i and the Mercedes-Benz C250.

This was the best April experienced by the brand since 2005 and the best overall month since 2006.
The 2014 Buick Encore, Buicks compact SUV, lead the way for the brand as it posted a 33% increase in retail sales and 48% year over year growth. The Regal had its seventh consecutive month of growth with and 11% increase. The LaCrosse also had a very strong month by increasing retail sales by 12%.
Buick recently won an award at the Automotive Advertising Awards for the commercial “Landing” and was also awarded the highest-ranking mass-market brand for customer satisfaction by J.D. Power in their U.S. Customer Service Index Study™ (CSI).

Buick’s February sales are one for the record books as the Regal experienced an increase of 49% in year-over-year sales due to its redesign and added features.
