Are you looking to resell your truck? Well, hopefully you bought a GMC! According to a GMC press release, GMC Canyon and Sierra have the highest resale values of any truck. The statistic comes straight from Kelley Blue Book. The organization predicted that both GMC models would retain their value over the span of five years than any other truck. “This recognition affirms everything this brand stands for and provides greater assurance for our customers that they’ve made a smart choice investing in GMC,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “These vehicles are designed to deliver capability with refinement and style – a combination that is winning over more and more customers.” This is the second year in a row in which KBB ranked both GMC trucks in their top 10 vehicles for resale value. With features 31 mpg on the highway, it’s not surprising how valuable these vehicles are. If you want a vehicle with value that lasts, choose a GMC and take a look at our large selection of GMC trucks at Ewing Buick GMC in Dallas, TX!
The new GMC Canyon returned this year to take on a weak, aging midsize pickup market. The Canyon features a rugged exterior, and an interior to be reckoned with. While the Chevrolet Colorado also returned, only one of the two midsize pickups made it onto Ward’s Best Interior List.
The editors over at Ward’s Auto World selected their top 10 vehicles with the best interior. Here at Ewing Buick GMC, we aren’t surprised that the GMC Canyon made the list. With one of the best interiors we have available, the GMC Canyon is one of the best choices for comfort, space, and convenience.
“It’s important that great interiors be available in every class of vehicle, not just luxury models that most consumers will never be able to afford,” said Drew Winter, Ward’s Auto World Editor-in-Chief.
Ward’s Auto staff tested, examined, and evaluated 42 new vehicle interiors this year. They ranked everything from design harmony to driver information to safety and back again. With an interior built to suit everyone’s lifestyle, the new GMC Canyon was an obvious choice.
2014 turned out to be a great year for the GMC brand. The Sierra had its best sales year since 2005! The Yukon followed with its best sales year since 2007 selling over 71,000 units. The Terrain had its best sales year ever and the Acadia won Edmunds.com’s Most Popular Large Crossover SUV of 2014. Finally the Canyon won Autoweek Magazine’s Best of the Best Truck for 2015!
The ultra-plush Denali lineup also saw sales gains in 2014. More than 21% of GMC sales to individual customers were vehicles from the Denali lineup. More than half of the year’s Yukon retail sales were Denalis and 35% of Sierra HD sales were Denalis. As you can see, the Denali lineup adds a little something extra to GMC’s already impressive lineup.
As you can see, GMC offers a pretty impressive lineup of trucks, CUVs, and SUVs. The brand hopes to continue the positive momentum into 2015! “In 2014 we had the freshest portfolio of GMC products on our lots including a full range of pickups, with the all-new Canyon. The new Yukon lineup has also driven high consumer interest to our store with its bold styling, especially the Yukon Denali,” said Chief Operating Officer at Motor City Buick GMC, John Pitre.

It’s been a busy year in the world of trucks, as evidenced by the reintroduction of GM’s midsize pickup twins, the Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Both trucks have been praised by experts across the industry for their quality, refinement, style, and practicality, and now the GMC Canyon is finishing off a successful year by winning a much-sought-after award—Autoweek’s Best of the Best Truck award.
Editors at Autoweek praised the Canyon for its amenities, modernity, style, and more. In fact, they commented that the truck is “brimming with a near-luxury experience”—something we at Ewing Buick GMC agree with 100%. The Canyon beat out seven other finalists to be named the victor—each finalist underwent a vigorous three-day test session at Michigan International Speedway which analyzed its performance, quality, design, significance, and value.
“Of the hundreds of vehicles Autoweek tests each year, only a relative few truly stand out from the rest,” said Autoweek editor Wes Raynal. “The GMC Canyon is not only one of the best new vehicles on the market, it’s one of the most important, signaling an exciting return to the mid-sized truck segment.”

The rest of the midsize truck market must simply be crushed. Not only does the new GMC pickup, the Canyon, boast some of the best fuel efficiency numbers on the market while remaining extremely powerful and capable, the truck can also boast about its perfect body as well. It’s like that hot guy from high school who was also smart and sensitive. Everyone hated that guy.
There’s no reason to hate the new Canyon, though, which comes with a body that was put together with laser precision. No, literally—a laser scanner was used to make sure everything fit together well. “We’re working with an entirely new vehicle architecture as well as the latest technology available for dimensional management,” said Bryan Vickery, dimensional engineer for Body Maintenance at Wentzville. “The process is a big part of delivering improved body structures, which translates to great vehicles to our customers.”
The Canyon, obviously, is the best at just about everything. So come see us as soon as possible here at Ewing Buick GMC to get behind the wheel of this “perfect” new vehicle. They’re popular and they fly off the lot really fast, though, so make sure to come see us as soon as possible.
How would you like a truck with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a six speed automatic transmission, 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque–all while getting 21 miles per gallon? That kind of combination of fuel economy and power seems impossible, but with according to the report from the EPA, that’s exactly what the 2015 GMC Canyon has.
The GMC Canyon tested for 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Combined, these figures lead to the 21 mpg rating overall. Only one other GM vehicle, the Chevy Colorado, matches these figures. No other small pickup truck gets that kind of fuel economy.
And, in our opinion, no other truck matches the Canyon for it features. The quiet interior has a power driver seat and can house an 8-inch infotainment touch screen. Plus, the Canon keeps you safe with forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

Say hello to the GMC Canyon; the GMC Sierra’s little brother. With the introduction of the GMC Canyon, the automaker challenges the definition of “pickup truck”. In the world of pickups, we tend to assume that it’s got to be a big, gas-guzzling beast in order to be awesome. We happen to think there’s a place for a smaller, more efficient pickup, and it’s equally awesome.
The 2015 GMC Canyon can do things and go places that a Sierra 2500 could never do or go. The Canyon has a turning radius of just 41 feet, while electronic power steering provides easy maneuverability in situations where big trucks would struggle. Take that, Sierra 3500. The short-bed crew cab is just 212.7 inches long, ideal for people who regularly park in tight spots, parking garages or have a small garage.
EPA highway estimates are impressive; 22 mpg for 4×4 versions, and 24 mpg for 2WD models. Sierras equipped with the 4.3L V-6 will boast the highest available towing rating of 7,200 pounds, making it the most capable V-6 truck available.
“With its smaller size and associated nimble nature, Canyon provides pickup capability and exceptional comfort in an efficient and more manageable package,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing in a news release. “An increasing number of customers don’t need the full capability of a full-size pickup, yet desire the functionality a pickup offers. These customers appreciate the smaller size of mid-sized pickups, with their ability to easily fit in a garage, travel downtown areas of big cities, and navigate crowded parking lots. The all-new 2015 GMC Canyon represents the best of both worlds in this sense.”
