GMC is one of the leading innovators in the industry, one reason drivers everywhere can’t wait for the 2018 GMC lineup. Noticeable changes have been made to vehicles like the GMC Terrain, while the 2018 GMC Yukon Denali has a polished, refined design. Plus, the Sierra Denali HD has some minor changes as well. At Ewing Buick GMC, we couldn’t be more excited about the upcoming lineup.
According to GMC, the all-new GMC Terrain has some exhilarating changes. The Terrain has C-shaped LED lights and signature looks, including a “floating roof” design for modern appeal, while a spacious interior is great for the whole family. That’s not to mention the state-of-the-art infotainment technologies that provide improved connectivity.
The Yukon Denali also has some subtle changes for the 2018 model year. For instance, new accenting provides added refinement, while the standard 20-inch wheels are truly bold. Perhaps one of the most notable changes is the Yukon Denali’s newly designed grille, a seemingly small change that manages to make quite the statement wherever you go.
Finally, the Sierra Denali HD has been updated as well. In addition to the revamped “Like a Pro” campaign that showcases the Sierra, the Denali HD trim has a new look and a new grille. The lighting, front fascia, and wide stance on the new Denali HD complement the rest of the 2018 lineup, creating a cohesive feel.
The GMC Terrain, Yukon Denali and the Sierra Denali HD will appear in late summer and early fall—which means they’ll be on the market very soon.
At the 1997 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, GMC showed off a concept vehicle that would capture the attention of everyone at the show. It was the first-ever Yukon Denali. This show vehicle came with unique exterior details and premium in-cabin features, including an early version of OnStar.
From there, the Denali line soon went into production and the first Yukon Denali models went on sale in late 1998. Now, nearly 20 years later, the one-millionth GMC Denali model has been sold.
Just like its namesake, the highest mountain in North America, the Denali lineup aims to stand above the rest of the SUV and truck lineup in America with premium amenities and fine craftsmanship.
“The advent of the Yukon Denali signaled a big shift, both in the industry and for GMC itself,” says Rich Latek, marketing director for GMC. “…We sensed an opportunity to create a premium-grade model that could resonate with customers on a whole new level.”
With the Yukon Denali, customers will find a premium SUV that can not only tackle tough jobs, but get you there in comfort and style. All three rows include premium, perforated leather-appointed seating. And, there are authentic aluminum and Java Burl wood inlays throughout the cabin.
GMC SUVs are perfect for large families, especially during the school year. With added cargo space, better connectivity, and advanced safety systems, going back-to-school is a breeze as long as you’re behind the wheel of a GMC.
Believe it or not, 6-10 school children participate in after-school extracurricular activities, says GMC. With that in mind, GMC crossover and SUV design is more equipped than ever to make driving with kids easier. For example, models like the Acadia, Terrain, and Yukon have all added space for cargo and passengers.
“Everything starts all at once after Labor Day,” says Whitney Quijada, a mother from Arizona and owner of a GMC Acadia. “I am a teacher and I have two kids and they’re both involved in three activities. We’re always on the go. We have the captain’s chairs in the second row. Even if we are carpooling to dance or tee-ball practice, it’s so convenient to get the kids in the back and buckled up.”
Keeping kids entertained is also important. New models come available with features like IntelliLink, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi, and even Siri Eyes Free. Plus, with safety features like Blind Zone Alert, Cross Traffic Alert, Park Assist, and more, you always have peace of mind.
2014 turned out to be a great year for the GMC brand. The Sierra had its best sales year since 2005! The Yukon followed with its best sales year since 2007 selling over 71,000 units. The Terrain had its best sales year ever and the Acadia won Edmunds.com’s Most Popular Large Crossover SUV of 2014. Finally the Canyon won Autoweek Magazine’s Best of the Best Truck for 2015!
The ultra-plush Denali lineup also saw sales gains in 2014. More than 21% of GMC sales to individual customers were vehicles from the Denali lineup. More than half of the year’s Yukon retail sales were Denalis and 35% of Sierra HD sales were Denalis. As you can see, the Denali lineup adds a little something extra to GMC’s already impressive lineup.
As you can see, GMC offers a pretty impressive lineup of trucks, CUVs, and SUVs. The brand hopes to continue the positive momentum into 2015! “In 2014 we had the freshest portfolio of GMC products on our lots including a full range of pickups, with the all-new Canyon. The new Yukon lineup has also driven high consumer interest to our store with its bold styling, especially the Yukon Denali,” said Chief Operating Officer at Motor City Buick GMC, John Pitre.

GMC posted its best June since 2006 and Ewing Buick GMC is proud to contribute! The brand experienced an 11% total increase year-over-year increase and a 5% increase in retail sales. Leading the way for June was the Yukon SUV. GMC’s favorite large SUV experienced an 83% retail growth in year-over-year sales. Another top-seller for June was the GMC Terrain posting a 9% growth in year-over-year in retail sales.
GMC hopes to continue the positive momentum by releasing the 2015 Terrain with all-new 4G LTE capabilities. As we mentioned in a previous article, passengers will be able to stay connected in the new crossover because it will act as its own Wi-Fi hotspot. It is also important to note that the Terrain received a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ distinction from IIHS. With all of its available features, it’s easy to see why the Terrain is a top pick among families.
Along with the Yukon and Terrain, the Sierra truck segment has also been doing exceptionally well. It has posted its best start to a year since 2007. The all-new Sierra and Sierra HD are perfect choices for those looking for something both work-durable and family-oriented.
