Are you looking to resell your truck? Well, hopefully you bought a GMC! According to a GMC press release, GMC Canyon and Sierra have the highest resale values of any truck. The statistic comes straight from Kelley Blue Book. The organization predicted that both GMC models would retain their value over the span of five years than any other truck. “This recognition affirms everything this brand stands for and provides greater assurance for our customers that they’ve made a smart choice investing in GMC,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “These vehicles are designed to deliver capability with refinement and style – a combination that is winning over more and more customers.” This is the second year in a row in which KBB ranked both GMC trucks in their top 10 vehicles for resale value. With features 31 mpg on the highway, it’s not surprising how valuable these vehicles are. If you want a vehicle with value that lasts, choose a GMC and take a look at our large selection of GMC trucks at Ewing Buick GMC in Dallas, TX!
2014 turned out to be a great year for the GMC brand. The Sierra had its best sales year since 2005! The Yukon followed with its best sales year since 2007 selling over 71,000 units. The Terrain had its best sales year ever and the Acadia won Edmunds.com’s Most Popular Large Crossover SUV of 2014. Finally the Canyon won Autoweek Magazine’s Best of the Best Truck for 2015!
The ultra-plush Denali lineup also saw sales gains in 2014. More than 21% of GMC sales to individual customers were vehicles from the Denali lineup. More than half of the year’s Yukon retail sales were Denalis and 35% of Sierra HD sales were Denalis. As you can see, the Denali lineup adds a little something extra to GMC’s already impressive lineup.
As you can see, GMC offers a pretty impressive lineup of trucks, CUVs, and SUVs. The brand hopes to continue the positive momentum into 2015! “In 2014 we had the freshest portfolio of GMC products on our lots including a full range of pickups, with the all-new Canyon. The new Yukon lineup has also driven high consumer interest to our store with its bold styling, especially the Yukon Denali,” said Chief Operating Officer at Motor City Buick GMC, John Pitre.

After sales were counted and numbers were crunched, GMC’s retail sales for October showed a 6 percent increase over last year during the same period, making this the best October sales recorded since 2007. GMC pickup sales were a key player in that success.
Sales of GMC’s full-size Sierra totaled 18,564 units, which was an increase of 12 percent over October 2013 sales for the model. Meanwhile, the Sierra HD models continue to gain traction among customers looking for a truck that can handle heavier lifting without sacrificing comfort and style. HD models now account for 27 percent of Sierra models sold.
Of course, the GMC truck lineup recently added the all-new Canyon. The mid-size truck just completed its first full month of sales, and the assembly plant in Wentzville, Missouri is working hard to keep meeting customer demand.
“Given the unrivaled breadth of our pickup portfolio, it isn’t surprising to see GMC pickups gained popularity last month,” said Duncan Aldred, GMC’s U.S. vice president. “From Canyon to Sierra HD, along with the distinctive Denali and All-Terrain model lines, we’re able to offer customers a pickup that’s tailored to their needs.”

Never before have drivers seen luxury and power successfully integrated into a full-sized pickup—until now. The all-new 2015 Sierra Denali is the first of its kind, turning heads as it hits the markets. Here at Ewing Buick GMC, our jaws nearly hit the floor when we saw the new pickup.
According to GM, the 2015 Sierra Denali luxury is what really sets the pickup apart. Engineers have come up with a way to incorporate a high standard of comfort, a smooth ride, and innovative technology without sacrificing rugged capability.
The interior features Nuance leather-appointed seating, a heated steering wheel, and Bose audio system among other things. The Denali cabin is specially designed to remain quiet, with triple door seals and shear body mounts to reduce vibrations. An aerodynamic exterior also reduces wind-noise. The Denali also has IntelliLink, a color touch screen and MyMedia content.
Have no fear; the new model doesn’t sacrifice power. A 5.3-liter EcoTec V-8 generates an incredible 355 horsepower, and when paired with Duralife brakes and magnetic ride control, it’s nothing short of incredible.
Sometimes you just want a new car or truck that offers something a little different from most other vehicles on the road. If a hardcore monochromatic look is what you’re aiming for, then check out the hot body and 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition features.
This special edition Sierra will arrive at Ewing Buick GMC later this year and offers a distinctive look with premium features.
“Much in the same way the Sierra Denali and Sierra HD Denali models raised the standard for premium pickup trucks, the Sierra Elevation Edition will surprise and excite customers shopping for a sport pickup,” said Duncan Aldred, US vice president of Buick and GMC, in a press release. “With its striking looks, sophisticated connectivity features and legendary capability, the Elevation Edition raises the standard of what a sport pickup truck can be.”
The Elevation Edition will give you a body-colored grille surround, color-keyed door handles, mirror caps, side molding, and front and rear bumpers for a monochromatic look. While the official pictures show the truck in black, it will be available in other colors.
The package also adds premium LED headlights, fog lamps, and black-painted 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Convenience features include remote keyless entry, power mirrors, a 110-volt AC power outlet, LED cargo box lighting, a 4.2-inch Intellilink color audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and OnStar with 4G LTE Connectivity.

The Carbon Edition, Carbon 20 Edition, and Carbon 22 Edition come in either the two- or four-wheel drive format and offer the 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 standard (5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 optional).

The GMC Sierra 3500HD recently won the 2014 Ultimate Heavy Duty Challenge in the 1-ton diesel category! The title and the win were given to the Sierra by PickupTrucks.com, Cars.com, and Mrtruck.com which are all reputable truck experts in the auto industry. In order to receive top honors, the 3500HD had to outdo its tough competition, the Ford F350 and the Ram 3500.
The testers gave the Sierra 3500HD praise for not only its on-the-job work capabilities, but its interior comfort features for when you’re off the job. The car experts noted the Sierra’s tough and durable 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel engine, its towing capabilities, cruise control, and exhaust brake. The judges also liked the Sierra’s 8-inch screen for entertainment and navigation.
The Ram 3500 came in second place with its Cummins turbo-diesel engine and the Ford came in the third spot with its Powerstroke turbo-diesel engine. All trucks were put to multiple tests to see which one did the best under pressure. Some of the tests included hill climbs, dragway performance, braking capability, and max load trailering stability.
Here at Ewing Buick GMC, we’re proud to offer the ultimate heavy-duty truck! If you would like to know more about how the GMC Sierra 3500HD can help you with work or play, stop by and see us in Plano!
Recently, new protocols were put into play industry-wide to test the maximum tow capacity in real-world driving conditions. The tests were aimed to keep the playing field consistent among all auto manufacturers and to give consumers a clear definition of what they can really expect from their truck. Many manufacturers saw their tow capacity decrease while implementing SAE J2807. The Sierra 1500, however, did not see a decrease after implementation of the new tests. The 2WD double cab Sierra equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine maintains its 12,000-lb. max trailering configuration.
How was the Sierra able to keep its rating, while other trucks fell? The Sierra 1500 is equipped with the most powerful engine in its segment. It makes an outstanding 420-horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It is also available with a 9.76-inch rear axle and heavy-duty rear springs to help with hauling.
As you can see, the 2014 Sierra 1500 is ready to work! With other features like a CornerStep bumper and a center console big enough for work files, the Sierra 1500 can be the perfect mobile office. If you would like to know more about the 2014 Sierra, stop by Ewing Buick GMC!

It is also important to note that the Terrain received a 2014 Top Safety Pick+ distinction from IIHS.
