One-Millionth GMC Denali Sold

one-millionth GMC Denali sold - Yukon Denali - Ewing Buick GMC Blog

At the 1997 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, GMC showed off a concept vehicle that would capture the attention of everyone at the show. It was the first-ever Yukon Denali. This show vehicle came with unique exterior details and premium in-cabin features, including an early version of OnStar.

From there, the Denali line soon went into production and the first Yukon Denali models went on sale in late 1998. Now, nearly 20 years later, the one-millionth GMC Denali model has been sold.

Just like its namesake, the highest mountain in North America, the Denali lineup aims to stand above the rest of the SUV and truck lineup in America with premium amenities and fine craftsmanship.

“The advent of the Yukon Denali signaled a big shift, both in the industry and for GMC itself,” says Rich Latek, marketing director for GMC. “…We sensed an opportunity to create a premium-grade model that could resonate with customers on a whole new level.”

With the Yukon Denali, customers will find a premium SUV that can not only tackle tough jobs, but get you there in comfort and style. All three rows include premium, perforated leather-appointed seating. And, there are authentic aluminum and Java Burl wood inlays throughout the cabin.

1961 GMC Suburban a Customized Monster

1961 GMC Suburban

The 1961 GMC Suburban is well over 50 years old at this point but that isn’t stopping one owner from hitting the trails. Michael Wymer took to the garage and created a customized monster of a Suburban. The end result is a beast that boasts more power than most sports cars along with all of the capability an SUV has to offer.

At more than half a century old, most drivers wouldn’t give the 1961 GMC Suburban a second glance – until they hear its engine roar. The 6.6-liter Duramax V8 engine boasts a heart-pounding 427 hp and 754 lb-ft of torque and that’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the heart of this monster.

Wymer started the project on a shortened GMC Sierra 2500HD chassis. From there, he added a lift kit, shortened the CV axels, and created custom upper control arms. Normally such a challenge would take a team of mechanics but Wymer took the project on solo.

Today, he uses the Suburban to tow and haul other projects as well as take the occasional off-roading adventure. You won’t find another 50-plus-year-old vehicle that can do all of that and more!

We here at Ewing Buick GMC never cease to be amazed at what owners can do to their vehicles.

New 2017 GMC Acadia Spy Photos Leak Online

2017 Buick Acadia
The Looks Good

Fans of the GMC Acadia have just received some good news. Spy photos of the upcoming 2017 GMC Acadia have leaked online, showcasing what the upcoming model will look like under a camouflage tarp.

Despite the secretive covering, these 2017 GMC Acadia spy photos give us a good idea about what the new Acadia will look like. In general, the Acadia appears to be much smaller, while still having plenty of passenger space.

The new Acadia also looks a bit sleeker than its predecessor, with more rounded angles and less boxy edges. And if the Acadia is smaller, you can bet that it will be much lighter and able to boast better fuel efficiency stats.

Hopefully, GMC will release official images soon. Until then, we’ll likely have to wait until 2017 if not 2018 to see this model in its entirety. Keep checking back with Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, TX for the most up-to-date information on the new GMC models.

Reasons to Buy or Lease a Car

Buy or Lease
To Buy or To Lease? That is the Question.

One of the most important decisions you make while looking for a new car is whether to buy or lease. Each option has its own benefits and downsides, but your final decision can truly depend on your lifestyle and financial situation. To make the decision between buying or leasing a bit easier, here are a few pros and cons for each: Buying When you purchase a car rather than lease it, it becomes yours. This allows you to modify the vehicle in whatever way you want. Buying a vehicle can be more expensive at first, since it typically has a higher down payment than leasing a vehicle. Eventually, though, you won’t have to pay your monthly payments any longer. The biggest downside to buying a vehicle has to do with the warranty. Typically, paying for vehicle repair falls on you once your vehicle’s warranty expires, which can be quite expensive. Leasing The majority of leases come with warranties that last for the entirety of the lease, ensuring the car is covered for service. Leasing is also cheaper at first glance with a small down payment getting you a lot of bang for your buck. When you lease a vehicle, though, your new vehicle has a restricted amount of miles you can travel. If you go over these miles, it’s likely you will have to pay a significant fee. You also can’t modify the vehicle at all during your leasing period. Whether you decide to buy or lease your next vehicle, Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, TX has great you will want to check out today.

2016 Buick Verano’s Reveal Turns Heads in Shanghai

2016 Buick Verano’s Reveal
Happiness Comes Standard with the Verano

The much-anticipated 2016 Buick Verano’s reveal happened at the Shanghai GM Gala Night, just ahead of the Shanghai Auto Show. The Verano compact sedan was first introduced in 2011, and the 2016 model will be all-new, marking the car’s second generation.

Though details remain scarce, we do know that the 2016 Verano was inspired by the 2013 Buick Riviera concept, however designers also used elements from the new, luxurious Avenir concept. The Avenir-inspired styling cues include the front and rear wing-tipped LEDs and a windshield and rear glass with a steeper angle. The steeply-raked glass in the front and rear not only reduces the drag coefficient, but also makes the car appear longer than it actually is.

Autoblog.com points out that the new Verano is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged Ecotec four cylinder, capable of putting out 166 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.

It remains to be seen how the U.S.-bound model may differ. Here at Ewing Buick GMC, we’ll keep you updated as more Buick Verano information becomes available.

Best Value Luxury Brand
The Glorious Buick Regal

The customers have spoken, and once again, they’ve ruled in favor of the fantastic Buick lineup. In the 2015 Brand Image Awards from Kelley Blue Book, Buick was named the Best Value Luxury Brand—for the third consecutive year. The fact that the awards are based on consumer ratings is just icing on the cake for the Buick brand.

“Earning this recognition three consecutive years indicates that we’re shifting consumer perception,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “Consumers now understand that great products and service is what to expect from Buick.” One of those products is the new Buick Regal, which wears an elegant exterior design over a comfortable interior and a capable engine.

In fact, the standard engine is a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder beast with 259 horsepower, yet it still gets 30 mpg on the highway. That number jumps up to 36 mpg highway with the 2.4L engine equipped with eAssist technology. The Regal also has tons of safety and technology features, so come see us at Ewing Buick GMC to learn more about the 2015 Buick Regal and the rest of the award-winning brand today.
