For the third year in a row, AutoPacific has named GMC the Ideal Popular Brand, and three GMC vehicles led their segments. The Sierra led the Light Duty Pickup segment, while the Yukon won the Large SUV category and the Acadia was first in the Large Crossover class. GMC was one of only two automakers who took three categories. This was the Sierra’s second year winning the Light Duty Pickup category. The AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards are determined by surveys from more than 65,000 vehicle owners who were surveyed after owning their vehicles for 90 days. Customers were asked what they would change about their vehicles, in terms of ride quality, features and technology, performance, interior space, and several other categories. George Peterson, the president of AutoPacific, says the surveys are a chance to see which vehicles are “hitting the mark with owners” as well as helping identify overarching issues and make improvements. The vice president of GMC Duncan Aldred echoed this in saying, “The results demonstrate we are succeeding in our mission to provide our customers with a premium ownership experience.” The Denali lineup, Aldred said, is a major factor in this, as nearly 25% of GMC owners have a Denali.
