The holiday season is one of the most fun times of the year. The decorations start to come out, people are a little bit happier, and everyone is just a little bit more generous with their time, money, and kindness. To celebrate all of these things, head out to the 29th annual Dallas Children’s Health Holiday Parade on December 3rd at 10:00am, to kick off the Christmas season. Here is everything that you need to know. The parade began all the way back in 1988 and was started by the Adolphus Hotel and Children’s Health as a gift to the citizens of Dallas for enabling both institutions to prosper. It has grown and evolved into one of the biggest parades in the country and it draws a crowd of approximately 400,000 every single year. As the event happens every December, it gets better with each year that passes. As such, this year’s parade is going to feature festive floats, a marching band, and Santa Claus. It will also be televised nationally to over 100 million homes across more than 350 TV stations. If you’re looking for a fun family activity to join this year, look no further than the Dallas Children’s Health Holiday Parade, and stop by Ewing Buick GMC in Plano, TX, and let us know how you liked it!
For the third year in a row, AutoPacific has named GMC the Ideal Popular Brand, and three GMC vehicles led their segments. The Sierra led the Light Duty Pickup segment, while the Yukon won the Large SUV category and the Acadia was first in the Large Crossover class. GMC was one of only two automakers who took three categories. This was the Sierra’s second year winning the Light Duty Pickup category. The AutoPacific Ideal Vehicle Awards are determined by surveys from more than 65,000 vehicle owners who were surveyed after owning their vehicles for 90 days. Customers were asked what they would change about their vehicles, in terms of ride quality, features and technology, performance, interior space, and several other categories. George Peterson, the president of AutoPacific, says the surveys are a chance to see which vehicles are “hitting the mark with owners” as well as helping identify overarching issues and make improvements. The vice president of GMC Duncan Aldred echoed this in saying, “The results demonstrate we are succeeding in our mission to provide our customers with a premium ownership experience.” The Denali lineup, Aldred said, is a major factor in this, as nearly 25% of GMC owners have a Denali. See what makes the brand so amazing at Ewing Buick GMC near Dallas, TX today!

Buick is taking huge strides in the automotive industry. Their cars are stylish, equipped with impressive technology, and they are consistently some of the safest vehicles on the market.
That’s why it comes as no surprise that the Buick Avista received the 2016 Concept Car of the Year and the Most Significant Concept Vehicle of the Year at the 2016 North American Concept Vehicle Awards ceremony at the Concours d’Elegance of America in Plymouth, Michigan.
Voters were swayed by the sleek, elegant appearance of the Avista and the impressive technology features. The 20-inch aluminum wheels with color-toned accents are a nice touch, and the touch-pad door handles are futuristic in the best way.
On the inside of the vehicle, drivers are treated to premium leather and aluminum details that make the interior appear ultra-modern. The latest technologies are accessible in the cabin of the car through touchscreens on the center console and instrument panel.
As for the engine, voters were impressed with the 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine that the Avista offers. It also features rear-wheel drive and twin exhaust outlets.
Buick has surprised many people by being on the cutting edge of new vehicle technology and style. They have established themselves in the luxury car market, and they don’t appear to be going anywhere.

GMC is known for offering some of the most popular vehicles on the market and it’s been recognized by AutoPacific for doing so year after year. Now, GMC has been named the Most Ideal Popular Brand for the third consecutive year. Three GMC models led their segments, making GMC one of only two automakers to accomplish the feat. GMC took home the top honor in AutoPacific’s 2016 Ideal Vehicle Awards thanks to the Acadia, Yukon/Yukon XL, and the Sierra pickup. The Acadia topped the Large Crossover SUV segment while the Yukon/Yukon XL dominated the Large SUV segment. The GMC Sierra tackled the Light Duty Pickup segment for the second year in a row and also served as the brand’s bestselling model. Of the three, the 2017 GMC Acadia is all-new for the model year and boasts an impressive interior, advanced infotainment system, innovative safety technologies, and more. The SUV offers a comfort-oriented ride that makes it perfect for both short and long trips. In order to determine what brand and vehicles took home the top honors, the 2016 Ideal Vehicle Awards surveyed more than 65,000 owners. The survey took place after 90 days of ownership and asked customers what changes they would make in their vehicles in 15 categories. GMC featured the least amount of requested changes, earning it the top spot for the third year in a row. Here at Ewing Buick GMC near Dallas, TX, we’re proud to see GMC taking home another top honor!

Life can be hectic, especially when you’re driving the family around and running errands. In order to prevent unnecessary injury or death, GMC has developed the innovative Rear Seat Reminder system. Using a series of sensors and warnings, this system can prevent you from leaving a child unattended in the back seat.
Believe it or not, about half of the children under 14 who die of heatstroke in a vehicle are forgotten, according to GMC. The Rear Seat Reminder works to prevent this by activating whenever a rear door is open and closed within 10 minutes before the vehicle is started (or while the vehicle is running). The next time the car is turned off, you get a warning to check the rear seat.
“General Motors has developed a new technology for the GMC Acadia, the Rear Seat Reminder, to give busy parents an important reminder to check the back seat before leaving the car,” said Kate Carr, president and CEO of Safe Kids Worldwide. “We must always remember that the safest way to protect a child from heatstroke is to never leave a child unattended in a vehicle.”
This feature can’t detect every item or individual in the back seat—it’s simply meant to prevent some incidents. That’s why it’s still important to always check the back seat, especially if you have small children.
To see this and more awesome features, visit Ewing Buick GMC near Dallas, TX when you can!
