Now is the perfect time to visit the Path to the Presidency exhibit at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. You can experience what the candidates see as part of this special exhibit on the history of campaigns and elections. This great new installation is just one of many fun and educational things to do in Dallas.
According to the Dallas Culture Map, the event started back in early August, but it goes until October 9. Its open every day at 9:00am, except for Sundays when it’s open at 12:00pm. You can deliver a speech from a podium using a teleprompter to see how difficult it really is, you can pose for a campaign ad, and watch clips of historical political ads. You can also learn about famous elections and losses, as well as the influence of technology and cultural changes on elections.
This is a great way to put things into perspective for this upcoming election. By understanding the history of elections in the US, you can learn the context for today’s politics. There are also displays on campaign and election memorabilia, documents, photos, artifacts, and more.
Want to make a day of your visit to the Path to the Presidency exhibit? Stop by the Old Chicago restaurant, the People’s Last Stand, and Trinity Hall. The Angelika Film Center and Café are located nearby, as well as the Hyena’s Comedy Nightclub.
