GMC Sierra Elevation Edition Features and Look Get Bold

Sometimes you just want a new car or truck that offers something a little different from most other vehicles on the road. If a hardcore monochromatic look is what you’re aiming for, then check out the hot body and 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition features.

This special edition Sierra will arrive at Ewing Buick GMC later this year and offers a distinctive look with premium features.

“Much in the same way the Sierra Denali and Sierra HD Denali models raised the standard for premium pickup trucks, the Sierra Elevation Edition will surprise and excite customers shopping for a sport pickup,” said Duncan Aldred, US vice president of Buick and GMC, in a press release. “With its striking looks, sophisticated connectivity features and legendary capability, the Elevation Edition raises the standard of what a sport pickup truck can be.”

The Elevation Edition will give you a body-colored grille surround, color-keyed door handles, mirror caps, side molding, and front and rear bumpers for a monochromatic look. While the official pictures show the truck in black, it will be available in other colors.

The package also adds premium LED headlights, fog lamps, and black-painted 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. Convenience features include remote keyless entry, power mirrors, a 110-volt AC power outlet, LED cargo box lighting, a 4.2-inch Intellilink color audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, and OnStar with 4G LTE Connectivity.

What features are you most excited about on the 2015 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition?

GMC Canyon Delivers on Fuel Economy and Power

How would you like a truck with a 3.6-liter V6 engine, a six speed automatic transmission, 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque–all while getting 21 miles per gallon? That kind of combination of fuel economy and power seems impossible, but with according to the report from the EPA, that’s exactly what the 2015 GMC Canyon has.

The GMC Canyon tested for 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. Combined, these figures lead to the 21 mpg rating overall. Only one other GM vehicle, the Chevy Colorado, matches these figures. No other small pickup truck gets that kind of fuel economy.

And, in our opinion, no other truck matches the Canyon for it features. The quiet interior has a power driver seat and can house an 8-inch infotainment touch screen. Plus, the Canon keeps you safe with forward collision alert and lane departure warning.

If you want to check out the GMC Canyon, head over to Ewing Buick GMC and see everything the truck has to offer when it hits our dealership in the next few weeks!

The car experts noted the Sierra’s tough and durable 6.6-liter Duramax Diesel engine, its towing capabilities, cruise control, and exhaust brake. The judges also liked the Sierra’s 8-inch screen for entertainment and navigation.

The Ram 3500 came in second place with its Cummins turbo-diesel engine and the Ford came in the third spot with its Powerstroke turbo-diesel engine. Recently, new protocols were put into play industry-wide to test the maximum tow capacity in real-world driving conditions. The tests were aimed to keep the playing field consistent among all auto manufacturers and to give consumers a clear definition of what they can really expect from their truck. Many manufacturers saw their tow capacity decrease while implementing SAE J2807. The Sierra 1500, however, did not see a decrease after implementation of the new tests. The 2WD double cab Sierra equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 engine maintains its 12,000-lb. max trailering configuration.

How was the Sierra able to keep its rating, while other trucks fell? The Sierra 1500 is equipped with the most powerful engine in its segment. It makes an outstanding 420-horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It is also available with a 9.76-inch rear axle and heavy-duty rear springs to help with hauling.

As you can see, the 2014 Sierra 1500 is ready to work! With other features like a CornerStep bumper and a center console big enough for work files, the Sierra 1500 can be the perfect mobile office. If you would like to know more about the 2014 Sierra, stop by Ewing Buick GMC!

The GMC Terrain is a Top Safety Pick +

In a recent vehicle assessment by the IIHS, the GMC Terrain was named a Top Safety Pick+! The Terrain was one of the only midsize SUVs tested to receive this top designation. In order to receive this honor, the Terrain had to undergo rigorous testing which tested both its features and overall strength.

One of the tests, the front overlap crash, was a head-on collision where 25% the vehicle strikes another object at 40 mph. This test is aimed to mimic a head-on utility pole crash. The Terrain was one of the only two vehicles to receive a “Good” rating on this test. The IIHS also tested a variety of other strengths and features of the vehicles to determine safety ratings.

Along with a strong front structure that can withstand tough collisions, the Terrain houses many great safety features. Some of our favorite features include: a rear vision camera, OnStar Emergency services, daytime running lamps, StabiliTrak stability control system, and available forward collision alert and lane departure.

With a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a long list of safety features, the GMC Terrain makes for a perfect family vehicle. If you would like to know more about the Terrain stop by our dealership near McKinney!
