There have been some big changes to the Buick Regal sedan—which is no longer a sedan at all. You might not even recognize the new 2018 Buick Regal at first glance, so here are five things you should know about what’s new in this car.
There Are Two Models
The new 2018 Buick Regal comes as two different cars. The first is the Buick Regal Sportback, a five-door hatchback disguised as a sleek sedan. The second is the Buick Regal TourX, a capable and luxurious wagon.
They Come With Strong Engines
Both models of the new Buick Regal come with a standard 250-horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. The Buick Regal Sportback also comes in a GS version which gets a 310-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 engine.
The Cabins Are Quiet
With Buick’s Quiet Tuning technology, the cabins of the 2018 Buick Regal TourX and Sportback are peaceful, even on highways.
They Have Great Standard Technology
Each 2018 Buick Regal TourX and Sportback comes with a standard 7-inch color touchscreen with the Buick Infotainment system and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Standard All-Wheel Drive on the Regal TourX
The 2018 Buick Regal TourX in particular is crafted for adventure, and comes with standard all-wheel drive so that it’s set to travel off road or on slippery pavement with confidence. All-wheel drive is also available on the Buick Regal Sportback.

Never before have drivers seen luxury and power successfully integrated into a full-sized pickup—until now. The all-new 2015 Sierra Denali is the first of its kind, turning heads as it hits the markets. Here at Ewing Buick GMC, our jaws nearly hit the floor when we saw the new pickup.
According to GM, the 2015 Sierra Denali luxury is what really sets the pickup apart. Engineers have come up with a way to incorporate a high standard of comfort, a smooth ride, and innovative technology without sacrificing rugged capability.
The interior features Nuance leather-appointed seating, a heated steering wheel, and Bose audio system among other things. The Denali cabin is specially designed to remain quiet, with triple door seals and shear body mounts to reduce vibrations. An aerodynamic exterior also reduces wind-noise. The Denali also has IntelliLink, a color touch screen and MyMedia content.
Have no fear; the new model doesn’t sacrifice power. A 5.3-liter EcoTec V-8 generates an incredible 355 horsepower, and when paired with Duralife brakes and magnetic ride control, it’s nothing short of incredible.
As one of the most widely-consulted consumer magazines, Consumer Reports is an important source to impress. For Buick, this means setting a shining example of luxury with the newest Buick Regal sedan. After comparing the American sedan with the more expensive BMW 328 and Mercedes-Benz C250, Consumer Reports has decided that when it comes to choosing your next car, you should choose Buick.
“[The] Regal beat the Volvo S60 in a head-to-head road test. Ultimately, the Regal wound up finishing just one point shy of the class-leading BMW 328i and tied the Mercedes-Benz C250 for second place in the organization’s overall ratings of upscale sport sedans—while costing thousands less.”
With Buick’s recent move toward more sporty performance cars and away from their dowdy reputation that formed in over the past few years, the American brand has been able to give German carmakers a run for their money. Priced at only $34,485, the Regal Premium comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine and front wheel drive, offering plenty of luxury for those looking for a great value. If you happen to be one of those people, stop in to Ewing Buick GMC today and see why Consumer Reports says, “Choose Buick!”
A few years ago it was unclear about the future of the Buick brand. Known for its 65+ age demographic, Buick seemed like a choice for only the older generation. If you had asked back in 2009 what the future looked like for Buick, many would have said it would be extinct by 2010. Buick took 2009’s harsh reality and decided to change and refresh the dying Buick brand.
In the last few years, Buick has completely redesigned their lineup giving the younger generation something to be excited about! Buick is no longer and old timer’s brand, you will now see that it is a top choice for young families. With the introduction of the Regal GS, the brand has been able to capture younger drivers by offering style and sport. Mark Reuss, former President of GM North America calls the overhaul “refined luxury.”
In recent months, GM has undergone some serious recalls with its other brands, but Buick has held strong! Officials over at Buick say that they have big plans for the future, but like to keep everything low-key. What do you think of the fresh Buick lineup? Let us know in the comment section below!
